Giving your outfits a Western flare with the purpose of attracting just the right amount of attention to yourself is not a piece of cake. Luckily, a great number of us have made the mistake of looking like a cartoon character and now you don’t have to (chuckles). So, if you are a woman that wants to stand out the county way (but not too much) there are a few simple guidelines you ought to follow.

Mix Classic with Cowgirl Pieces

There are only a few pieces you can include in your wardrobe as to make country inspired combos that don’t look forced. A country casual shirt is one of those pieces.

Cowgirl-Pieces

The perfect formula to properly pull off a western-inspired look is to subtly blend this piece with your trusty everyday classics. On that note, you can start with a pair of denim jeans or black pants and pair them with a country casual shirt. The indigo western shirt sure is a classic move, but you are not limited to one as there are many types of washes and patterns. From groovy floral prints and plaid flannels to corduroy and satin made shirts – the options are many. Cotton is a another popular material of choice as it’s soft and comfortable to wear. Something like a well-fitting cotton shirt with a collar can give you an immediate well-groomed look. All you need to do is tuck it into a pair of Levi’s and you are good to go.

Add an Accent Accessory

Another way to try out the Western style with less commitment is by adding western-themed details. You can add a touch of western flare to your neutral everyday favourite pieces (like a white t-shirt or denim jeans) with a big buckle belt, turquoise accents, horn necklace, fringed bag, or some white pointed toe boots. Moreover, adding something like a western hat with silver details can also complement your outfit and you can look both stylish and unique. Since high-street giants like Zara and Topshop have a range of Western-inspired items, adding such accessories doesn’t have to cost you a lot.

Give Your Feminine Dress a New Country Look

As a woman, you probably already have a midi or a maxi dress that you can use as a base for creating a country look. You can take a floral maxi dress for instance and wear it with cowgirl pieces like a silver buckle belt and black booties all for the purpose of adding a subtle western vibe into your outfit.
